I’m a hands-on Garden Consultant and I love plants and getting dirty, I wear well worn Blundstone boots and my Bisley shirt and each morning I transform from Mum of three to “Tradie” hop into my little old Ford ute and drive off to work and I love it !
I love creating gardens which invite nature in, as well as offering a wonderful “Ahhh it’s good to be home” zone for my clients.
I grew up in Melbourne and went to school across the road from The Royal Botanic Gardens and attended Melbourne Girls Grammar School where Horticulture was compulsory in Year 10 and following a degree from Monash University and many years in corporate life am now following my passion for planting things.
I adored gardening with my Great-Auntie Celia in her country garden in Cohuna, a tiny farming community town in Victoria. During school holiday visits, I would be in her veggie garden just following her around listening to her every word, soaking it all in.
These days I live in Perth on the other side of the country, with my wonderful husband and three children and a silly rescue Labradoodle called Jazz. We’re a typically busy family, managing lots of social activities, work, play and wouldn’t have it any other way.
I take great inspiration from gardens that I visit when I travel – I hope that you will enjoy these gardens too.
I’ve learned how to adapt to gardening in Perth over the past 20 years or so, it’s very different from gardening in Victoria that’s for sure.
Our soil is not really soil-it’s gutless sand… and that’s just the beginning..then comes our water shortage issues…. but out of adversity can come moments of great joy when you’re a gardener.
“He who has a garden and a library wants for nothing.”
