I’m a hands-on Garden Consultant and I love all kinds of plants and getting my fingers in the dirt!

One of the things that make me truly happy is providing great garden advice and spreading the joy of successful gardening using easy methods that are largely organic, starting from the soil up. I am passionate about our planet and the natural environment and believe that having a healthy garden surrounding our homes is the first step towards improving not only our own mental health but the health of our planet.

Garden Maintenance in Perth, is only a small component of the work that I do but If you spot me out working, I will be wearing very well-worn Blundstone boots, a work shirt, and my signature pink socks. I transform from wife and mum of three teenagers to a fully-fledged “Tradie” ( that’s what we Aussies call a landscaper) and I hop into my little old Ford ute, wind down the window (there is no AC) let the wind flow through my hair and I drive off to work and I love it!

Lately, I have written articles for Garden Clubs of Australia magazine and The Garden History magazine as well as the in-house GardenComm International publication, ‘On The QT’.

You may have heard me speaking on 6PR over the Summer of 2023/24, Kalamunda Garden Festival, Perth Garden Festival, or years ago on ABC radio with Sabrina Hahn. I also appear from time to time on 100.1 Curtin FM “Let’s Talk Gardening” with Faye and Rae, sharing my knowledge about the best time to plant, how to get rid of weeds, and information about keeping on top of common pests and diseases in the most organic way possible.

I love designing and creating gardens for my clients as a professional landscape gardener, that invites nature in, as well as offering a wonderful “Ahhh it’s good to be home” zone for them.

I take great inspiration from the gardens that I visit when I travel and enjoy writing about them when I get home – I hope that you enjoy reading about these gardens in my blog.

I’ve learned how to adapt to gardening in Perth over the past 25 years or so, it’s very different from gardening in Victoria where I was born, that’s for sure.

Our soil in Perth is not soil in many places-it’s pretty gutless sand and that’s just the beginning… then there are our water shortage issues but out of adversity can come moments of great joy when you’re a gardener.

Let’s garden together and be friends on the journey.
